POP CULTURE: Free Craic in Brooklyn on Sunday

A little shameless promotion for one of this site’s favorite bands: anyone in the New York City area this weekend should consider checking out the Saw Doctors’ free concert on Sunday, June 22. The show is at Prospect Park in Brooklyn and is part of the borough’s “Celebrate Brooklyn!” free concert series.

The Saw Doctors are one of the most underrated acts in recent rock history and, even in their current incarnation minus longtime bassist Pearse Doherty, are one of the most dynamic live acts in the world. Their concerts are a guaranteed good time, whether or not you claim Irish heritage. I will be away at another wedding this weekend but highly recommend attending.

You can thank me later.
