BASEBALL: Dodger Blew

In case you missed it, Eric Gagne’s record-setting streak ended the other night with a blown save against the Diamondbacks. Though I usually regard the closer as an overrated position in baseball, Gagne’s 84 consecutive saves were impressive by any standard.

Robert Tagorda and Jayson Stark have more on the end of a historic run.

Thanks for the link. You're certainly right about the closer position. For my part, I've tried to remind my readers that it's Gagne's consistently high K/BB, K/9, ARP, etc. that matters.
